ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਪ ਸਿੱਖ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਸਨ। ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1791 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ।ਆਪ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਹੀ ਮੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਅਫਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਤੱਕ ਫੈਲ ਗਈਆਂ। ਆਪ ਨੇ ਜਮਰੌਦ ਦਾ ਕਿਲਾ ਵੀ ਫਤਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਮਰੌਦ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਏ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਜੜਾਂ ਪਾ ਦਿਤੀਆਂ ਪਰ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪਿਛੇ ਛਿਪੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਇਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਓਨਾ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਓਹ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਜਮਰੌਦ ਦੇ ਕਿਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ 30 ਅਪਰੈਲ 1837 ਈਸਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਏ।

General Hari Singh Nalwa
Hari Singh Nalwa (1791–1837) was Commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj, the army of the Sikh Empire. He is known for his role in the conquests of Kasur, Sialkot, Attock, Multan, Kashmir, Peshawar and Jamrud. Hari Singh Nalwa was responsible for expanding the frontier of Sikh Empire to beyond the Indus River right up to the mouth of the Khyber Pass. At the time of his death, the western boundary of the empire was Jamrod.
