ਅੱਜ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਪੁਰਬ ਹੈ | ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ | ਗੂਰੁ ਅੰਗਦ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ (31 ਮਾਰਚ 1504 – 29 ਮਾਰਚ 1552) ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਖ਼ਾਨਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਮਾਂਦਰੂ ਨਾਮ ਲਹਿਣੇ ਨਾਲ਼, ਪਿੰਡ ਹਰੀਕੇ (ਹੁਣ ਸਰਾਏ ਨਾਗਾ, ਮੁਕਤਸਰ ਨੇੜੇ) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਇਆ। ਭਾਈ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਖੱਤਰੀ ਟੱਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਲ਼ਿਆ,ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਸਨ।ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ, ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ਼ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਬਣ ਗਏ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਲਹਿਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰ ਅੰਗਦ (“ਮੇਰਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਅੰਗ”) ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਓਨ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਐਲਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ।ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਬਰ ਬਣੇ।ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਖਤਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਆਰਬੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹਨ।ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਇਕੱਤਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ਼ 63 ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਰਚੇ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਐਲਾਨਿਆ।

Guru Angad Ji was the second of the ten Sikh gurus of Sikhism. After meeting Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, becoming a Sikh, and serving and working with Guru Nanak for many years, Nanak gave Lehna the name Angad (“my own limb”) and chose Angad as the second Sikh Guru and led the Sikh tradition.He is remembered in Sikhism for adopting and formalizing the Gurmukhi alphabet. Guru Ji began the process of compiling the hymns of Nanak and contributed 63 hymns of his own. He chose his disciple Amar Das as his successor and the third Guru of Sikhism.
