ਅਜਕਲ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਨੀ ਹੈਨਰੀ ਡੁਨਾਟ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਰੈਡ ਕਰਾਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੱਟੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਦਿਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਓਨਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਜੰਗਾਂ ਯੁਧਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਓਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਵੀ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਅਨਿੰਨ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਈ ਘਨੱਈਆ ਜੀਓ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ । ਓਨਾ ਨੇ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਦੇ ਫੱਟੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਜਖਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਮਲਮ ਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਸ ਨੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ।

     World Red Cross Day is being celebrated in these days. It is celebrated as the birthday anniversary  of Founder of Red Cross Henry Dunant .We also remember those men and women who put their lives in danger working for wounded soldiers and also those who  during service of humanity  sometimes lose them in the pursuit of their goal .

        On world Red Cross Day ,we should  remember these heroes and their sacrifices.Name  of Bhai  Ghanaya Ji  may be put on top of the list of such heroes. He took upon the task of quenching the thirst of the wounded soldiers in the battle of Anandpur Sahib in 1704 AD. He did this 'Sewa' with love and affection without any discrimination whether wounded soldier was Muslim,Hindhu or Sikh. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was pleased and also gave Bhai Ghanaya ji medical Balm and said ' From now onward, you should also put this balm on the wounds of all who need it.

    I have written a Poem regarding Life history  of Bhai Ghanya Ji  in Punjabi. S Jagdeep Singh Kirat World has designed this poem and video of the same has been prepared by respected friend Dr. Pritam Singh Saini of USA. Raman Arora of Outdo Website has posted it on my Website.
